Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey Sauternes 2005

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $55.99!

(12/29/2014) "The 2005 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey offer apricot, fig jam and touch of almond on the focused bouquet, grilled walnut coming through later. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, quite structured and almost austere in comparison with other vintages. There is good tension here, vibrant and citric with impressive mineralité towards the finish. This has great potential."

Domaine de L'Alliance "Definition" Bordeaux Blanc 2013

This wine should sell for $40. Our price is $10 less!
92+ Our Score
(6/2019) We bought this Kermit Lynch import on a close-out deal, and it's absolutely delicious! With a few years in the bottle, this 50/50 blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, sourced from 50-year old vines in the Sauternes district of Bordeaux, is drinking beautifully. Extremely viscous in the mouth, this distinctive, dry white gives a combination of youthful freshness and bottled-aged flavors, including honey, almond butter, golden raisin, yellow apple, preserved lemon and pure white rock minerality. Finishing long, with lifted acidity and briskness, this is a complex effort that, if tasted blind, could be compared to a few substantially more famous (and more expensive!) Bordeaux Blanc. A serious wine and a serious find at this reduced price!

Chateau Coutet Barsac 2015

(11/30/2017) "A heavenly dessert wine, the 2015 Château Coutet boasts a huge nose of caramelized citrus, crème brûlée, tangerine, and honeysuckle. With huge richness and sweetness, moderate acidity, a thick, fat mouthfeel and a blockbuster finish, it's borderline over the top yet holds it together. It will be interesting to see how this evolves, but it's undeniably gorgeous today. Maturity 2018 - 2038."

(9/1/2018) "This luscious wine from Olivier Casteja is full of ripe fruit, apricots and honey. It comes from vineyards on the highest plateau in Barsac. Cut with lively acidity, and showing a light touch, it has both elegance and richness, and will age well over many years. Drink this wine from 2023. Cellar Selection."

A flashy dry white Bordeaux from the famous Sauternes producer, Chateau Guiraud!
90 Wine Spectator
(2/28/2019) "Plump and friendly, with tangerine, peach and nectarine notes forming the core. The rounded finish has a flattering hint, along with a thread of quinine that keeps this honest. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2020."

Chateau de Bellevue Bordeaux Sauvignon Gris 2015

90 Our Score
(10/2018) Made entirely from Sauvignon Gris, a deeper colored and more exotically flavorful mutation of Sauvignon Blanc, this Kermit Lynch import is a bit different from most white Bordeaux. Offering a touch of green and a hint of botrytis, this round and fleshy dry white displays flavors of baked citrus, apple and pear along with just a smidge of button mushroom. Yummy and fun!

Chateau Beauregard Ducasse Graves Blanc 2016

90 Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(8/31/2017) "The 2016 Beauregard Ducasse from the Graves is a blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. It has an attractive nose of Granny Smith apples, white peach and a touch of honeysuckle that is neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is fresh, well balanced and offers good presence in the mouth. The acidity here is very well judged and that Semillon kicks in on the second half, lending this Graves lovely lemon curd and almond flavors on the finish. This is just a delicious white Bordeaux to relish over the next three or four years, possibly longer. Drink Date 2017 - 2022."

Chateau Lamothe Guignard Sauternes 2015

Pull out the peach cobbler and grab a bottle of this 2015 Sauternes. Yum!
90 James Suckling
(2/5/2018) "With lots of creme brulee on the nose, this is a big, powerful wine with a very intense finish in which the sweetness and oak are clearly perceptible but not dominant. Quite mature for its age so drink now or in 2019 and 2020."
