What We Think
Vin Chicago: 93 Points
At the winery, this Anne Amie Pinot Noir sells for $55. Since Anne Amie will no longer make this wine, they allowed us to steal it at more than ½ off! Aged in new and used French oak for 18 months, the “Twelve Oaks Estate” Pinot Noir impresses with flavor, texture and structure. Sourced from select, hand-picked vineyards within the Chehalem Mountains appellation, the wine pours a lovely pale ruby red. On the nose, an array of complex and intriguing aromas, with exciting fruit tones leading, including fresh picked heirloom strawberry, organic Door County cherries, Scottish black tea, savory spice, purple flowers and red earth crumbles. In the mouth, the wine is silky, with a Volnay-like elegance, a balanced 13.5% abv, medium tannins and medium plus acidity - it’s an elevated Willamette Pinot Noir, a tier above most of the Anne Amie Pinots we’ve worked with, and given today’s special offer, a literal steal!
