What We Think
Vin Chicago: 93 Points
(1/2025) We hold dear a spot in the Vin Chicago heart for quality and affordability in Napa Valley Cabernet. Sourcing fruit from the foothills of Howell Mountain, Burgess once again provides an approachable and elegant wine. The nose is treated to toasted herbs and blue fruits with subtle notes of cedar and vanilla. The first sip reveals a full-bodied well-structured wine. Ripe currants and plums are surrounded by baking spices, dark chocolate and soft tannins. A long finish with balanced acidity, fruit and tannins suggest the wine is ready to drink now or can be aged for another four years. Pair with a roast, aged cheeses or simply sit back and sip away on this fantastic wine that matches the quality of $50 and $60 bottles!
