(6/2025) Tempranillo from along the river Duero delivers such impressive dark-toned minerality and spicy assertiveness in incredibly agreeable prices. This one (including 2% Cabernet Sauvignon) scarcely sees the United States, a shame. A bold attack full of macerated strawberry, sun-kissed blackberries, dried tobacco, sage, and salted fresh black plums carry through to a finessed and shockingly long black-mineral tinged spicy finish. Medium-plus in body with racy acidity and minimal oak impression, this is a real, quality wine.
