What Critics Think
Decanter : 94 Points
(1/4/2022) Gorgeously expressive nose, ripe and fresh red berry fruits and a soft smokiness that's so appealing. Velvet tannins fill the mouth cushioning the blackcurrant and black cherry fruit. There's more smoked notes on the palate too giving it a touch of savouriness against the ripe, jammy fruit alongside leather, truffle black pepper, liquorice and mint with some salinity towards the end. A muscular style, dark and brooding, clearly flexing its power but with absolute charm. Lovely. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2036.
James Suckling : 94 Points
(1/13/2022) Blueberries and cocoa powder, as well as lavender and blackberries on the nose. Full-bodied with tight, focused tannins that are lean and racy, in a clear way. Just a hint of tar and ash at the end. Chewy and fine. Best after 2027.
