What We Think
Vin Chicago: 95 Points
(7/2022) Crafted from 100% old-vine Pinot Meunier, this complex Champagne was raised in tank before spending a year in used oak barrels. The matured juice was bottled in 2018, rested for 3 years, then disgorged in October of 2021. Despite an official Non-Vintage status, this bubbly is entirely from the outstanding 2016 vintage. In the glass, this special wine gives powerful aromas of limestone minerals, spring flowers, baked citrus, yellow orchard fruits, brioche and almond butter. In the mouth, the wine is full and rich, with a fantastic electric line of energy throughout the entire experience. It is a wonderfully complex Champagne that is drinkable now and over the next 5-7 years.
What Critics Think
Vinous - Antonio Galloni : 94 Points
(11/2021) “The NV (2016) Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs ADN de Foudre Meunier emerges from vines in Festigny and Le Breuil planted in 1976. Weightless and yet powerful the 2016 possesses tremendous nuance and complexity. Lifted floral notes lend brightness throughout. Lemon confit, marzipan and dried flowers add the closing layers of complexity. No dosage. Drinking Window: 2021 - 2030.”
