What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(6/2025) Tiago Teles and Antonio Marques da Cruz, two of Portugal's finest winemakers, teamed up in 2015 to start COZs, and they are making excellent and exciting wines around the Lisbon area. This wine is made from the Castelão grape and sees aging for around 15 months in 1000L neutral oak barrels. While this is a no-sulfur wine, you'd never know it from the taste--it's completely clean and delicious. A juicy, medium body melds seamlessly with present but mild tannins in a wine that also entices with notes of red berries, wild herbs, spicebox, and a hint of smoke.
