(6/2022) The 2020 Domaine aux Moines has a light herbal, almost agave-like character alongside fresh pear and delicate oak. This wine marks a huge change in the ripeness levels versus the ripe 2016. But there was a lot of rain on 27 August, which meant they made the decision to harvest very early on 1 September to avoid any botrytis; the 2020 does have a sense of light dilution. Tasted just six weeks after bottling, it's tight and it feels like the vintage is dominating rather than the site, but it would be useful to come back and look at this wine in 9-12 months.
