(11/11/2022) The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Alexis Establet (100% Grenache) sports a ruby/plum hue to go with a charming, already complex nose of spiced red and black fruits, Asian spice, and Provençal garrigue. It shows the forward, nuanced, already complex style of the vintage, has beautiful tannins, and a great finish. Drink this complex, elegant beauty over the coming 10-15 years. Maturity: 2022 - 2037.

(9/29/2023) Always substantially more exciting than the regular bottling, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Alexis Establet seamlessly blends notions of ripe cherries, apricot-like stone fruit and resinous, piney herbal accents. It's full-bodied and intense but bright and vivacious, with the supple tannins slightly accentuated by the acidity. This is an excellent effort, with ample length and what should prove to be a long drinking window. Drink Date: 2022 - 2040.

(4/20/2023) Stacks of spicy and Mediterranean herb aromas, plus a hint of summer flowers. Rich, muscular and well-structured, this Chateauneuf is not for the faint-hearted but the ripe plum fruit and full, gentle tannins are matched with enough energy to carry this rather briskly over the palate to the long stony and spicy finish. A pure grenache. Drink or hold.
