(10/2026) Frantz Saumon is known for making stellar wines in the Loire Valley. However, he also makes a tiny amount of wine from purchased fruit from the Gascogne region in Southwest France, and wow is it good! This is a blend of Ugni Blanc, Gros Manseng and Colomard and is very much a sibling to his work with Chenin Blanc. Bright and balanced, the wine has notes of yellow apple, white peach, dried mango and wild herb bouquet. Delightful on its own, it will also pair well with white meats, seafood, and soft cheeses.
