(9/26/2024) This year, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Memora has emerged as a standout in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Derived from a mix of galets roulés and safre soil types across several parcels, this wine comprises 65% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre. It was partially destemmed and aged for 12 months, with 10% in large barrels and 90% in concrete tanks. Evoking aromas of dark cherries, flowers, roses, violets and dark cherries, it's ample and suave, sappy and enrobing with a charming, velvety mid-palate, good depth at the core and a long, delicate and ethereal finish. (10/29/2024) Ripe red and black fruits, peppery garigue, and savory spices all emerge from the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Mémora, another impeccably made, elegant, classic wine that shows the sun-kissed, complex, yet still elegant style of the vintage. Based on a destemmed blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre from the Les Cassanets and Pignan lieux-dits, aged mostly in concrete, it should drink nicely for a solid decade. Maturity: 2024 - 2034.
