What We Think
Vin Chicago: 90 Points
(7/2026) If you want a cheat-code to access the character of Swiss whites for under twenty bucks, it has to be this Vin Chicago fave - the Jacquère grape from eastern France's Savoie region. In the little town of Abymes (famously translates to the old translation for 'abyss' as a landslide claimed 5000 lives here in 1248), two cousins craft this pure, enlivening Alpine white. At only 11.5% ABV, it captures a mouthweight that defies that slender measure - a wine of purity with salted lemon and yellow apple, subtle mountain herbs and spring water - with minerality for days. If you enjoy wines like Soave and Muscadet, this is must-try!
