(5/2025) Did you know that some of the most exciting Pinot Noir in Burgundy is being grown in the Yonne Department, in Chablis? It's not always true, but in the case of brothers Arnaud and David Lavantureux, and this bottling from 'Epineuil', it definitely is! This 100% Pinot Noir comes from a 3.5 hectare parcel, originally planted by the brothers' grandfather in the mid-1960's. With a hint of funk and barnyard, this very Burgundian red shows a sublime texture with a sophisticated collection of flavors that do not sacrifice yummy deliciousness. Long and structured, this could easily be mistaken for 1er Cru Gevrey Chambertin from a super traditional grower. Great stuff here.
