(5/1/2026) The single vineyard cuvée of Lousas “Parcela Rosende” from Envínate is planted primarily to Mencía, on granite, rather than the slate, with the vines ranging from thirty to sixty years of age. The vineyard includes about fifteen percent of Brancellao, Merenzao and Garnacha Tintorera and other varieties co-planted here. The wine is handled in the cellar the same as the other Lousas cuvées: foot trodding, fermentation with native yeasts and élevage in older French oak demi-muids. The 2024 Rosende is deep, young and gently reductive on the nose, but with some aeration offers up a complex bouquet of dark berries, pomegranate, sweet botanicals, a great base of minerality, tree bark, woodsmoke, espresso and a touch of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully transparent down to its minerality, with a fine core of fruit, ripe, seamless tannins, excellent balance and a long, complex and precise young finish. A beautiful wine in the making. Drink between 2038-2085.

(8/26/2026) Attractive aromatics of violets, nervy red fruit such as cranberries and wild berries with a herbal component, dried flowers and dried moss. Medium-bodied and acid-driven without being too angular, with subtle, elegant, ethereal fruit and velvety, enveloping tannins. Just a notch up from Lousas. Harmonious in a very detailed and composed way. This comes from the Rosende area, where granite soils predominate. Fermented with whole clusters and aged in a 2,000-liter foudre for about a year. Drink or hold.
