(10/2022) Enrico Nada’s red grape vines in Treiso were certified organic in 2017. Enrico ages this bottling for the first year in tonneaux and then racks the wine into botti for the next year of elevage. His 2019 Casot comes in at 14.5 percent octane and offers up a bright and red fruity nose of cherries, orange peel, lovely spice tones, stony soil elements, gamebird, fresh oregano, cigar smoke and cedar. On the palate the wine is bright, tight and full-bodied, with a good core of fruit, tangy acids, good mineral undertow, ripe tannins and a long, focused and well-balanced young finish. This wine needs plenty of time in the cellar, but it is going to be quite tasty once it is ready to drink. Drink between 2034-2075.
