What Critics Think
Jeb Dunnuck : 94 Points
(12/15/2025) A bright yellow hue, the 2019 Champagne Grand Cru Ambonnay Millésime Brut presents a fantastic, layered, and focused nose upon opening, revealing notes of crushed oyster shells, orange blossoms, and fresh orchard fruit. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with a supple silkiness of citrus oils that float to round out the flavor, and it’s savory and salty on the finish. A blend of 70% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay, it was raised without oak in stainless steel and was aged for 48 months sur latte with 5 grams per liter dosage. Although it was just recently disgorged in May 2025, it’s showing tremendous potential. It requires a bit of patience, but this is a fantastic vintage from H. Billiot to enjoy over the next two decades.
