(2/2023) Composed from a collection of estate-owned and neighboring friend's vineyards, Don Hartford and team have composed a darker-hued Pinot Noir aged in just 21% new French oak barrels, which showcases all the rich welcoming charm of the Russian River Valley. Succulent raspberry is initially enshrouded in leafy green herbs, then fleshed out with baking spices, blueberry, loam and blood orange notes. With further aeration, the wine broadens texturally and cocoa joins the fold. Yum, great intensity! To drink anytime over the next five years.
What Critics Think
Jeb Dunnuck : 92 Points
(7/21/2023) A youthful and saturated ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is ripe and spicy, with aromas of fresh pine, cherry liqueur, and fresh wildflowers. Medium to full-bodied, with ample richness on the palate, it reveals notes of ripe berries, turned forest floor, and toasted baking spice, and it has a classic feel, with good structure and a long finish. Drink it over the next few years.
