What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(2/2025) We love discovering California Cabernets that seriously overdeliver for the price. Paso Robles is arguably the most exciting region in the country for Cabernet nowadays, producing wines that pack in tons of flavor and sell for a fraction of Napa and Sonoma bottlings. Highly respected California winemaker Lee Miyamura makes this relatively new brand from the folks at Trinchero, and honestly, it's one of the most exciting sub-$20 Cab finds of the last 2-3 years. Sourced from two Paso parcels, including the Parrish Templeton Vineyard, a cooler site featuring limestone soils at 1700 feet elevation, the wine is both concentrated and fresh, giving flavors of blackberry, blue plum, and cassis, with subtle white rock minerals, hints of spice and green herbs, and a long, soft, impressively structured finish. Impressive!
What Critics Think
Vinous - Eric Guido : 90 Points
(6/2025) Vividly ripe raspberry mingles with sweet herbs and candied citrus as the flamboyant 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon comes to life in the glass. The palate is soft and round, with juicy acidity and depths of tart red berry fruit for balance. A hint of sweet lavender lingers, framed by silky tannins as the 2022 tapers off energetic and spry. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2028.
