What Critics Think

(9/1/2023) The Lini family has been at the forefront of producing Lambrusco via the Champagne method since the 1970s, and this wine shows their expertise. Aged for 14 to 15 years on the lees, this 100% Lambrusco di Salamino is radiant with ripe cherries mixed with savory herbs, sweet spices and blueberry tart aromas. The palate is rich yet light with an acidity that keeps the palate fresh. The wine finishes with complex notes of plums, dried herbs and violets. Drink now–2035.

(11/2024) The 2007 Rosso Metodo Classico entices with a dark, complex bouquet of crushed black cherries, underbrush, rose petals and spice. Its silken, creamy feel is offset by zesty acidity, as ripe wild berries and fruits mix with tart citrus. The 2007 finishes with amazing length and depth, leaving a fresh sensation as violet inner florals and worn leather fade slowly. This is really quite special and mature. I can’t help but think of the 2007 as a Barolo-lovers’ Lambrusco. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2026.
