(8/6/2024) A darker shade of red, the 2018 Pinot Noir Jessie James Vineyard also takes on more depth in the glass, with notes of leather, ripe berries, black raspberry, violets, and rich, dark earth. Moving to a broader shouldered, richer profile, it offers plenty of ripe tannins and great, long earth notes on the finish. It’s a more rugged wine, but it has a lot to offer.

(5/2024) The 2018 Pinot Noir Jesse James Vineyard opens with a beguiling bouquet that blends bass tones of blackberry, olive and spice with a lifting note of split pine. This is round and supple with energizing acidity and a saturation of minerality. Ripe wild berry fruits slowly saturate toward the close. Grippy tannins resonate but don’t get in the way as the 2018 finishes with staining length and pleasant chewiness. Still a baby and shining bright, this is made for the cellar.
