(9/1/2024) Made from fruit picked at 81° Oechsle in the area around the sundial and in the upper part of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (44 g/l). This offers a beautiful nose of strawberry, white pepper, whipped cream, herbs, and spices. The wine is beautifully playful and elegant on the palate where passion fruit mingles with tart minerals and fine herbal elements. The wine is beautifully juicy and playful in the finish. This is a beautiful Kabinett in the making. Drink: 2033-2043.

(9/2024) The 2023 Riesling Elisenberger Kabinett, a monopole for the Richters, comes from a site straddling the communes of Mülheim and Veldenz on quartzite with some alluvial deposits. The family has owned it since 1813, when a Richter ancestor bribed Napoleon with 3,000 Taler to spare Mülheim. The nose offers a touch of red gooseberry and subtle smoke, while the palate holds exquisite blood orange and tangerine flavors, boosted by subtle sweetness on the light body. Drinking Window: 2026 - 2056.

(8/30/2024) This Mosel Kabinett is very sleek and racy, with striking aromas of lime zest and cassis, Light-bodied with acidity that feels as if sparks are jumping around inside your mouth, pushing the touch of grape sweetness way into the background. I love this originality, but some may find it a bit challenging. From a unique site with quartzitic soil. Drink or hold.
