What Critics Think
Vinous - Antonio Galloni : 94 Points
(9/2023) The 2019 Barolo Prapò is packed with black fruits, gravel, incense, cured meats, dark spice and scorched earth. Virile and quite somber in bearing, the Prapò exudes intensity in all its dimensions. It is another terrific wine in this range, but it is a rich, heady wine. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2039.
Wine Spectator : 94 Points
(12/31/2023) An aromatic red, with cherry, plum and truffle notes embraced by sweet spices and toasty oak. The tannins build as this evolves on the palate, yet this is balanced, expressive and long overall, with a succulent feel in the end. Best from 2027 through 2046. 284 cases made, 83 cases imported.
James Suckling : 94 Points
(6/22/2023) A solid Prapo with medium body and firm and polished tannins that give length and structure. Berry, flower and spice character. Give it time to soften and show its true self. Try after 2027.
