(3/18/2025) Looking at the current release, the 2021 Tenuta Di Valgiano appears a bit more transparent in color, showcasing a youthful magenta/red hue. Here, the Sangiovese (which comprises 80% of the blend) truly takes center stage compared to the 2022. It reveals more red fruit aromas, with notes of pure red cherries, fresh tomato leaves, dusty earth, and crushed flowers. This vintage is medium to full-bodied and has a more linear profile, featuring refreshing, ripe acidity and a clean, stony texture. An elegant, rosy perfume lingers on the finish before slowly dissipating. This is a vintage I tend to gravitate toward, and I would be thrilled to stash a few bottles of this wine away to check in on over the next 15 years.

(2/2025) The 2021 Tenuta di Valgiano is seriously impressive. Layered and dynamic, with notable energy, the 2021 has so much to offer. A rush of dark red fruits, mocha, new leather, cedar, incense and spice signals a wine of complexity and pedigree. I see more elegance and refinement than in some prior years. That's never a bad thing. Drinking Window: 2026 - 2036.
