(9/2023) Abruzzo still flies low on the radar for most Italian wine drinkers, especially those born after 1990. Not many grew up drinking affordable Montepulciano d'Abruzzo like us old guys did! Like other zones on Adriatic coast, the quality level in this area has really climbed - evidenced by this lovely, food friendly red. Juicy, with floral tones, red berry fruit and just enough earth/tannin/acidity to be tasty and super-versatile with all kinds of fares. At this price? Yes please!
