What Critics Think
James Suckling : 95 Points
(9/5/2022) Very striking nose of mango chutney, burnt sage and cooked lentils. The hint of leesy funk blows off quickly. This wine is all about textural and chalky complexity and not at all about fruit. Tons of structure, but the creamy candied-citrus character is very nicely wrapped around this. Very serious, long finish. Only just beginning to open up. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

(12/8/2022) Whole-cluster pressed and fermented in 300-liter oak barrels, the 2020 Grüner Veltliner Ried Lamm 1ÖTW shows an attractive reduction with floral, wax and ripe and intense fruit and tea aromas. Smoky or toasty on the palate, with fumé aromas, this is an elegant, refined and persistently salty Veltliner with fine grip and a long, complex finish. This is one of the most Burgundian Veltliners from the Danube. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in September 2022. Drink Date: 2024 - 2042.
