(10/20/2024) Syrah from the aptly named 'My Friend Raj's Vineyard', also known as Stolo Vineyard in Cambria on the San Louis Obispo Coast, opens with an eyebrow-raising blanket of earthy splendour, layers of slow-roasted blueberry, pie crust, and potpourri aromas. The familiar blend of forest floor spice, foot-trodden herbal character and juicy red berries are held together by a backbone of sturdy tannin structure and clean acid. The Syrah in this area enjoys an unordinary long hang time with plenty of refrigerated sunshine exposure, which creates an overtly poignant fruit flavour. Enjoy this bottle while it's young and beautiful, or appreciate the development of pure fruit in a state of graceful maturity in 3-6 years. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2030.
