(8/17/2026) The 2024 Chardonnay Apple Field Vineyard is a bright yellow color and shows greater aromatic depth, with flinty wet stone, petrichor, golden apple, bright acidity, white peach, and lime citrus oils. From a site planted in 2016 from a suitcase selection from Burgundy, the wine holds acidity beautifully and reminds me of Meursault. It has excellent density, richness, and balance. Drink 2026-2040.

(8/2026) Volcanic Jory soils in the Dundee Hills give the 2024 White Walnut Apple Field Vineyard Chardonnay its nervy spine, and the wine wastes no time announcing it. Aromas arrive in tight focus: Bosc pear, white grapefruit pith, and crushed flint, with acacia blossom and a wisp of lemon verbena filling in behind. The pale lemon-straw color, silvered at the edge, hints at the cut that follows on the palate, where quince, pink grapefruit, and a chalky, stone-dust texture run alongside medium-plus acidity that never turns severe. Weight arrives late rather than early, a low hum of warm brioche and candied ginger broadening the mid-palate before the finish narrows again and holds. Try it with Dungeness crab folded into a chilled saffron risotto, where the wine’s acidity cuts the richness and its briny snap flatters the sweetness of the crab. About 160 cases were produced. Drink 2026 - 2036.

(7/13/2026) A luscious, full-bodied wine with aromas and flavors of yellow peaches, marzipan, vanilla and a hint of butterscotch and spiced pears in the long finish. The richness and gentle creaminess on the midpalate are balanced by juicy, mouth-filling acidity. Drink now.
