Winderlea "Imprint" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2015
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Sub-Region: Dundee Hills
Region: Willamette Valley
Color: Red
Country/State: Oregon
This biodynamically-farmed, 100% whole cluster gem was a hit with diners preferring freshness at our recent Winderlea Dinner at D&J Bistro in Lake Zurich. Bill Sweat the founder here is a full-on whole cluster convert, a real stem-junkie, and we think once you have more wines like this, you will be too!
90 Wine Enthusiast This cuvée underwent 100% whole cluster fermentation using natural yeast and spent 16 months in French oak, just 10% new. It's compact and a bit subdued, as though the flavors are in hiding. Tart raspberry fruit shows through, with a suggestion of wet cement. Give it ample aeration or tuck it away for a couple more years.
91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds (1/2018) "(all whole clusters and 10% new French oak) Deep red. Spice-tinged red berry and floral scents, backed by deeper cola and cherry pit nuances. Sappy, penetrating raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show very good clarity and pick up a hint of smokiness as the wine stretches out. Fine-grained tannins build slowly and add shape to the long, lively finish, which leaves behind a suggestion of spicecake."

Our store is on Old Skokie Road which is the frontage road on the west side of Rt. 41. We are 400 yards south of Deerfield Rd/Central Avenue. If you know where Williams Ski & Patio or Rick's Auto Body are located, we're on the same street; just about a few hundred yards to the south. If you are not familiar with the area, best to use GPS or some online directions because our store is a bit tricky to find!
