Country/State: Italy
93 Our Score (6/2021)
94 James Suckling (1/14/2021) "Sweet berry and cherry aromas show nicely here. Full-bodied with soft, focused tannins that show brightness and finesse. Lots of black-cherry, cedar and spice flavors on the finish. Complex. Drink or hold."
93 Wine Spectator (10/31/2020) "Fresh cherry, black currant, leather, almond and iron aromas and flavors are beautifully allied to the well-integrated structure and vibrant frame of this complex, harmonious red. Firm and long, with a lasting impression of sweet, ripe fruit. Best from 2021 through 2040. 3,333 cases made, 400 cases imported."
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni (8/2020) "The 2016 Chianti Classico Gherardino is a bit compact at first, but, like many of these wines, it fleshes out beautifully with air. Black cherry, dried herbs, tobacco, licorice, spice and leather emerge with a bit of coaxing. I would cellar the 2016 for at least a few years. There is a lot of wine here. It would be a shame to miss it. Drinking window: 2024 - 2036."

Our store is on Old Skokie Road which is the frontage road on the west side of Rt. 41. We are 400 yards south of Deerfield Rd/Central Avenue. If you know where Williams Ski & Patio or Rick's Auto Body are located, we're on the same street; just about a few hundred yards to the south. If you are not familiar with the area, best to use GPS or some online directions because our store is a bit tricky to find!
