Email
Country/State: California
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Sub-Region: Napa Valley
Region: North Coast
Color: Red
96 James Suckling (6/14/2017) "Loads of blue fruit, violets and lavender. Flowers everywhere. Full body and medium chewy tannins. Bright and vivid. Tangy and long. Needs four to five years to open. Try in 2022."
96 Decanter (9/2017) "100% CS. A brooding bouquet of cherry, black raspberry, dark spice and ferric soil tones, but an ample layered, richly textural palate, with superb depth and dimension. Balanced and authoritative. Drink 2020 - 2045."
96+ Wine Advocate (10/31/2017) "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill is a little youthfully subdued and broody at this early stage, revealing black soil, truffles and tapenade notions over a blackberry and cassis core, plus a touch of chocolate box. The medium to full-bodied palate springs to life with vibrant black fruit and subtle earth and savory suggestions, framed by rounded tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long."
97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni (1/2018) "The highlight in this range, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill is the biggest and most dramatic of these wines. It is also the wine in this range that plays more true to type. An exotic mélange of crème de cassis, crushed rocks, menthol, licorice, liquefied rocks and blueberry jam run through this sumptuous, full-bodied Cabernet. Diamond Creek fans will flip out over the 2014, as it captures all the signatures of this great site and yet won't take years (or decades) to be at its best. Today, the Volcanic Hill is super impressive, not to mention flat-out delicious."

If you are not familiar with the area, best to use GPS or some online directions because our store is a bit tricky to find!
