Ettore Germano "Cerretta" Barolo 2009

Email
Country/State: Italy
Color: Red
Region: Piedmont
Sub-Region: Barolo
Varietal: Nebbiolo
94 Wine Advocate (6/2013) "Ettore Germano's 2009 Barolo Cerretta shows added layers of spice and tobacco that play a supporting role to generous fruit layers. The warm 2009 growing season has left its mark in terms of the ripeness and softness of the fruit. The Cerretta does a very good job of containing all that fruity generosity within the firmer context of its tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028."
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni (10/2013) "Germano's 2009 Barolo Cerretta is much more open and inviting than the Prapò, but it, too, has plenty of structure. Here the fruit takes on shades of plums, black cherries, mint, spices and licorice all in a creamy relatively voluptuous style for Serralunga. Iron, tar, smoke and scorched earth round out the finish. Drinking window 2014 - 2024"
93 Wine Enthusiast (9/1/2013) "Located in the village of Serralunga, this is an estate to watch. The firm's Cerretta Barolo has a classic fragrance of rose and violet, with earthy notes of truffle and mushroom. The palate delivers ripe, delicious black cherry, white pepper and licorice, and big but round tannins. Reflecting the forward nature of the vintage, it's enjoyable now but will improve over the next few years."

Our store is on Old Skokie Road which is the frontage road on the west side of Rt. 41. We are 400 yards south of Deerfield Rd/Central Avenue. If you know where Williams Ski & Patio or Rick's Auto Body are located, we're on the same street; just about a few hundred yards to the south. If you are not familiar with the area, best to use GPS or some online directions because our store is a bit tricky to find!
