Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos de Vougeot 2015

98 Wine Spectator
(1/17/2018) "Red Complex aromas and flavors of red berry, sandalwood, vanilla, floral and mineral are alluring, made all the more appealing by the elegant frame and vivid structure. Silky and harmonious enough to drink now, but this should really sing in five to seven years. Offers a fine, smoky finish. Best from 2023 through 2040. 38 cases imported."

Chappellet "Pritchard Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
98 James Suckling
99 Wine Advocate
(12/30/2016) "The flagship wine, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill, 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec, is a stunner and one of the great, great 2014s. Inky purple with blueberry and blackberry fruit, cassis, licorice, graphite and white flowers, the wine is stunningly concentrated, full-bodied and seemingly one of the greatest of the 2014s. Still youthful, with at least 25-30 years of upside potential at the minimum, this is a wine for patient connoisseurs. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2050."

(10/29/2018) "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace is deep garnet-purple colored with a drop-dead gorgeous nose of creme de cassis, warm plums and blueberry compote with touches of chocolate box, licorice, vanilla pod and coffee beans plus wafts of cedar and cinnamon toast. Full-bodied and rich with gorgeous super ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, it finishes very long and very spicy. Drink Date 2020 - 2044."

Clos i Terrasses "Clos Erasmus" Priorat 2015

99 Wine Advocate
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(2/21/2018) "The 2015 Clos Erasmus has a similar level of purity to the 2013, yet is a riper, sexier wine that has an incredible voluptuousness and depth on the palate that's hard to believe. Kirsch, blackberries, cassis, graphite, liquid rock, dusty earth, and violet characteristics all emerge from this sensational, full-bodied, expansive Priorat that has sweet tannin and a huge finish. While it's a very different wine than the 2013, it's just as perfect. The 2015 is 75% Garnacha and 25% Syrah, aged 20 months in 40% new French Taransaud barrels, with 5% in clay amphorae. There are roughly 250 cases produced and it's a heavenly, singular wine to drink over the coming 15-20+ years. Hats off to winemaker Daphne Glorian!"

The tannins are fantastic - so polished. Focused and beautiful. Mineral undertone with ash and hot stone highlighting the dark fruits. It goes on for minutes. Needs three or four years to come together. But a serious red all the way."

Bollinger "La Grande Annee" Brut Champagne 2008

98 Decanter
97+ Wine Advocate
(3/29/2019) "Bollinger's 2008 La Grande Annee is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, ripe lemons, honeycomb, warm biscuits, dried white flowers and a delicate top note of walnuts and fino sherry. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a beautifully refined mousse, superb concentration at the tightly wound core, incisive acids and a supremely elegant intermingling of Bollinger's oxidative stylistic signatures with fresh, vibrant fruit. The finish is long, precise and chalky. This is a Grande Annee built for the cellar-the real excitement will come with a bit more bottle age-but this is already a thrilling Champagne in the making. Finished with eight grams per liter dosage, it was disgorged by hand in July 2018. This is also the first vintage of Grande Annee to be bottled in Bollinger's new narrower-necked 1846 bottle, which should make for a slower evolving wine. Drink Date 2022 - 2060."

Marc Hebrart "Special Club" Brut Champagne 2013

Winemaker's Notes
The most revered Champagne expert in America, importer Terry Theise, has declared this Champagne nearly perfect! Here's what he had to say about this truly special wine, "There have been great ones over the years - 2002, 2008, 2012 - but none as otherworldly as this, the most exquisite young Champagne I have ever tasted. Deg. 8/29/17, it is quite different from the '12, but just as sublime. 2012 croons, and this one whispers. '12 leaps like a gazelle; '13 flaps its gossamer white wings. '12 is clearly and tangibly great; '13 is ethereally and hauntingly great. '13 is a little like 2008, but with less prominent acidity; still, it's in the family of high cirrus-y skies with mares' tails and ice-rainbows. I wish I had four plusses to give it. Each pure beautiful element of Champagne is carefully arranged to be examined and identified, until they all melt together into Pleiades of nuance and structure. It's an ivory-pale bride, shining with bliss and love, even through her gauzy veil. This weightless masterpiece is 30% PN from Mareuil (Faubourg d'Enfer, Croix Blanche, Pruche and Cotes), 25% Ay (Cheuzelles, Pierre Robert, and Le Leon) 35% CH old-vines Mareuil (Beauregard, Ramonette and Buisson Saint Loup) and 10% CH Oiry and Chouilly (Justice and Montaigu). It is also a Coeur de Cuvee."

Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils "Cuvee de Mon Aieul" Chateauneuf du Pape 2016

97 Wine Advocate
100 Jeb Dunnuck
(8/28/2018) "Getting more than one exclamation in the notes, the 2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul is a deep, rich yet vibrant red that offers a kaleidoscope of kirsch liqueur, garrigue, crushed flowers, Asian spices, and cured meats. It's more opulent and sexier than the 2010, fresher and purer than the 2007, has deep, full-bodied aromas and flavors, and a huge finish. It's a sensational, heavenly Chateauneuf-du-Pape that tops out my scale. This cuvee is 100% Grenache that was not destemmed and was aged in 20% demi-muids and the balance in concrete tanks. Drinking window 2021 -2041."

Donnhoff Niederhauser Hermannshohle Riesling Spatlese 2017

99 James Suckling
(9/19/2018) "Most people who drink wine know what a ripe peach tastes like. However, this wine gives you a completely new appreciation of the meaning of the word "peach". Beyond that, it possesses subtlety that is extremely rare anywhere in the world of food and wine. From organically grown grapes. Fair'n Green certification. Absolutely delicious now, but could be held for decades."

Poderi Colla "Dardi Le Rose" Bussia Barolo 2013

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(10/2017) "Colla's 2013 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is a knock-out. Intensely sweet and perfumed, the 2013 reminds me of some of the most profound Barolos and Barbarescos I have tasted. Ripe red cherry, pipe tobacco, mint, dried rose petal, orange peel and anise are some of the endless nuances that seem to develop in the glass. The 2013 is a wine of depth, pedigree and class. It should provide thrilling drinking for a number of years. This is a regal wine in every way. Don't miss it."

Domaine Vincent Paris "La Geynale" Cornas 2013

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
91+ Wine Advocate
(11/18/2015) "As normal, the 2013 Cornas la Geynale is the most structured, tannic and age-worthy in the lineup. Coming from the Geynale and Reynard lieux-dits, and fermented with 100% whole clusters, it spent 18 months all in two- to eight-year-old barrels. Its inky purple, mostly opaque color gives way to masculine (classic Cornas!) notes of crushed rocks, charcoal, wood smoke and plums. Big, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and with plenty of tannin, it needs 2-4 years of cellaring and will drink well for a decade after that."

Herman Story Wines "Larner Vineyard" Ballard Canyon Red 2014

96 Jeb Dunnuck
(8/10/2017) "From a site in Ballard Canyon (Santa Barbara County) and made from 52% Syrah and 48% Grenache, the 2014 Larner is another inky colored effort that reveal a fresh, lively perfume of flowers, blackberries, smoked meats and spice. Full-bodied, ethereally textured and seamless, with no hard edges and a seamless texture, it's another blockbuster from Russell that I'd be thrilled to drink anytime over the coming 4-6 years."
