(12/2019) This is a unique and rather wonderful bottle of Champagne. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir (disgorged 3/6/2018 and finished with 7 g/l) the twine seal around the neck of the bottle is just the beginning of its distinctive nature. Very dense and richly textured, this Champagne is packed full of red fruit flavors including cassis, black cherry, macadamia and red flowers. 70% of the wine was raised in barrel, adding to the weight, nuttiness and fleshiness. Deliciously long and bright, this will appeal to those that like deeper toned Champagnes like Goutorbe, Bollinger and Billiot.

(11/2020) One of the smartest priced grower Champagne Roses one can find. The beautiful color is followed by flavors of fresh red fruits, including strawberry and blackcherry, fresh red flowers, and an undercurrent of minerality. The bubbly mousse is just about perfect. We're not sure there is a better Rose Champagne under $40!

(11/2020) Over the last three years, this has been the most reliable sub-$40 grower Champagne we've sold, and this latest batch is as good as any previous bottling we've had. The Nicaise winery is located just a few meters from Dom Perignon's Abbey. Besides the $100+ per bottle price difference, this wine actually comes from grapes grown in the Premier Cru village of Hautvillers! Soft, full flavored, with a fine stream and taut citrus/orchard finish, this is an easy bubbly to love.
