What's different about Vin Chicago? First of all, we're not about safe choices. We don’t care about hot sellers. We look for the special wines, the ones scoring highest in the wine press and the ones we discover on our own, that we can get for a great price. We taste—and rate for ourselves— virtually everything we put on our shelves. Why? Because we want you to love the wine you buy from us. And come back for more.

Poderi Morini "Morose" Spumante Brut Rose NV

A tasty sparkling Rose from Italy!
88+ Our Score
92 Vinous, Ian D'Agata
(1/2018) "Pretty pink color with a strong mousse. Lovely aromas of strawberry, aromatic herbs and anise. Fresh and juicy, with red berry and herbal flavors that have lovely inner-mouth perfume and a savory nuance. Boasts a rising, creamy mouthfeel on the long bright finish (about 9g/L residual sugar and 5.8g/L total acidity). A knockout Rose wine with above average complexity for a Rose sparkler made by the Charmat method (and only 12.5% alcohol). This is labeled as a non-vintage wine, but it is actually all from the 2015 vintage. 100% Centesimino, made with a long Charmat method (the wine stays on the lees for six months instead of the more usual three.)"

Domaine de Coste Chaude "Madrigal" Cotes du Rhone Village Visan 2016

90 Our Score
(4/2018) Wine lovers will be talking about the greatness of the 2016 vintage in France's Southern Rhône Valley for many years to come. This offering, from the village of Visan is a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah sourced from old vines at higher elevations. Classic, dense flavors of peppery black raspberry and black cherry are supported by a mineral and red rock core. The wine is balanced and fresh with an attractive depth of structure and extended length. This is a solid Côtes du Rhône Villages at a very attractive price!

Binyamina "Bin" Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Winemaker's Notes
"Binyamina Bin Cabernet Sauvignon has great clarity and a lustrous ruby red hue, a huge nose of red fruit with a hint of herbs and loads of get-up-and-go. The palate reveals a pleasant, medium body and light complexity that is best enjoyed as a young wine. A clean and refreshing finish rounds off this wine. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes, such as appetizers like olive oil-based meze, grilled meats, pasta with pepper sauce or smoked duck breast."

90-92 Wine Advocate
(4/28/2017) "The 2015 Corbières-Boutenac Prestige offers notes of Christmas spice, violets, blackcurrants and blackberries in its rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured personality. Made from 40% Carignan, 25% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre and the balance Syrah, aged mostly in once and twice used barrels, it should be a no brainer purchase for readers."

Estancia "Reserve Meritage" Paso Robles Red Blend 2014

87 Our Score
(3/2018) Estancia has been a benchmark for quality in California's Central Coast for the last 30 years. The Reserve Meritage from Paso Robles is an outstanding value. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 18% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, its soft and velvety tannins frame an abundance of rich, ripe fruit. Lush black cherries and dark plum flavors are backed by a finish of mocha, chocolate and baking spices. Simply put, at our lowest-in-country price, it's a steal of a wine that will more than hold its own with full menu of succulent barbeque. Fire up the grill!

Louis Martini Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

89 Our Score
(1/2018) Soft and very easy to drink, this Sonoma Cabernet shows hints of cocoa and pepper to go with the plush cassis, raspberry and red plum fruit notes. Bright, with medium tannins and a soft finish, this is a lot of Cabernet for the price. For best results, pop this open a few hours before you serve or give it a quick splash in the decanter!

Mont Marcal Brut Reserva Cava 2015

90 Our Score
(12/2017) Manuel Sancho of Mont Marcal got his start in the record business originally producing Catalan music for the Spanish market, expanding into distribution of such fine American records as K-Tel's "Hooked on Classics." If you're old like us, then you remember those inspired mini infomercials. But we digress, as this is about a delicious Sparkling wine made from traditional grapes Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada, with a bit of Chardonnay for good measure. This dry sparkler completely over-delivers, giving a mouthful of bubbles with a super fresh citrus and orchard fruit fused mid-palate. Well done!
