What's different about Vin Chicago? First of all, we're not about safe choices. We don’t care about hot sellers. We look for the special wines, the ones scoring highest in the wine press and the ones we discover on our own, that we can get for a great price. We taste—and rate for ourselves— virtually everything we put on our shelves. Why? Because we want you to love the wine you buy from us. And come back for more.

Bogle California Chardonnay 2017

87 Our Score
88 Beverage Testing Institute
(9/17/2018) "Straw green color. Woody aromas of lemon-lime and cream sodas, oak, apple-cinnamon compote, and white flowers with a satiny, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a tingling, interesting, medium-length ripe peaches and pineapple, toasted marshmallow, lemon curd, and allspice finish with heavy oak. A dry and oaky chardonnay with nice balance and approachable style."

Bodegas Volver "Paso a Paso" Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo 2016

90 James Suckling
88 Wine Advocate
(12/29/2017) "The 2016 Paso A Paso is pure Tempranillo from La Mancha sold as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla, the generic regional appellation. 201[6] was a dry and early harvest. It fermented in stainless steel vat and matured in vats and in well-seasoned 225-liter oak barrels for six months. It's fruit driven, expressive, juicy and clean, very pleasant and straightforward."

(10/2018) This delicious, dry German red is a blend of Dornfelder and Merlot. It offers up a balanced mix of cherry, strawberry and blueberry fruits with plenty of earthy undertones and a slightly spicy finish. A nice choice for a lighter, everyday drinking house red or party wine!

Hahn Estates California Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Half-bottles of yummy Cabernet! We'll await the press, but this quietly has amassed 87-90 points in each of the three previous vintages. We can find no lower price in the country than ours, but you're used to that!

Honoro Vera Rioja 2017

90 Our Score
(9/2018) Made from 100% estate-grown Tempranillo from the Juan Gil family's newly-purchased vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, the 2017 Honoro Vera Rioja is almost too good to be true! Authentic Rioja flavors of plum, cherry, fig, a touch of leather, cedar, vanilla and spice dominate on the palate. With incredible structure, well-integrated tannins and a long finish, this stuff would still be a real value at twice the price! In future vintages, much of the fruit that went into this wine will go into new, higher-tier Rosario Vera bottlings. In 2017, it all went into Honoro Vera! Totally delicious, it is soft enough to drink on its own and structured enough to pair with an enormous variety of foods. Pick it up by the case!

90+ Cellars "Lot 147" Mclaren Vale Shiraz 2016

87+ Our Score
(9/2018) This full-bodied and full-flavored Shiraz throws plenty of jammy fruit and spice notes right over the middle of the plate. Juicy and forward flavors of cherry, wild raspberry, plum and red currant are sprinkled with black pepper and baking spice. A smokin' hot value!
