What's different about Vin Chicago? First of all, we're not about safe choices. We don’t care about hot sellers. We look for the special wines, the ones scoring highest in the wine press and the ones we discover on our own, that we can get for a great price. We taste—and rate for ourselves— virtually everything we put on our shelves. Why? Because we want you to love the wine you buy from us. And come back for more.

Steele "Shooting Star" Lake County Pinot Noir 2015

89 Our Score
(9/2018) Jed Steele was a big player in the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir scene in the '90s and early '00s, then he totally disappeared from the market! Now he's back, and his "Shooting Star" tier is one heck of a value. This Pinot comes from Lake County and drinks great. Cherry and raspberry flavors are soft and easy. A fun, honest and tasty wine.

Chateau Juvenal "Les Ribes du Vallat" Ventoux Rouge 2016

The price-to-deliciousness ratio on this Philipe Cambie-produced, certified-organic gem is astounding!
93 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/2017) "Even better and one of the best values I've seen in a long time, the 2016 Ventoux Les Ribes du Vallat checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah brought up all in stainless steel. It offers a huge nose of garrigue, saddle leather, rare meat and loads of blackcurrant fruit. With full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges, it's a no-brainer purchase and ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years."

Chateau La Lieue Coteaux Varois en Provence Rose 2017

89+ Our Score
(8/2018) Made from 70% Cinsault and 30% Grenache, this certified organic Provencal estate has produced an outstanding Rose. Floral aromas lead to fruit-forward flavors of wild strawberries, salted watermelon and tangerine zest. Dry, crisp and refreshing with a bit of extra weight, this beauty will be delicious all year round with a variety of salads, grilled fish, spicy sausage and more. The Vial family has owned this estate for five generations and the experience with the land shines through. A definite case-buy candidate. Bravo!

Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

86 Wine Enthusiast
86 Wine & Spirits
(4/2018) "The initial reduction on this wine blows off with vigorous swirling or a splash in a decanter. Distinctly Marlborough in style, its generous flavors of gooseberry, passion fruit and bitter melon pivot to cleansing notes of mint and cucumber in the finish. For composed salads."

Wente "Morning Fog" Livermore Valley Chardonnay 2016

A real beauty here from the family operated Wente Vineyards. While the Decanter score is a bit over the top, there's no denying the appeal and the massive value here.
92 Decanter
(11/8/2017) "The nose exudes peach skin and musk tones whilst the palate gives fresh melon and fig flavours. There is a distinct minerality here on top of under-ripe pineapple and vanilla cream. Drinking Window 2017 - 2020." (California)

Poderi Morini "Morose" Spumante Brut Rose NV

A tasty sparkling Rose from Italy!
88+ Our Score
92 Vinous, Ian D'Agata
(1/2018) "Pretty pink color with a strong mousse. Lovely aromas of strawberry, aromatic herbs and anise. Fresh and juicy, with red berry and herbal flavors that have lovely inner-mouth perfume and a savory nuance. Boasts a rising, creamy mouthfeel on the long bright finish (about 9g/L residual sugar and 5.8g/L total acidity). A knockout Rose wine with above average complexity for a Rose sparkler made by the Charmat method (and only 12.5% alcohol). This is labeled as a non-vintage wine, but it is actually all from the 2015 vintage. 100% Centesimino, made with a long Charmat method (the wine stays on the lees for six months instead of the more usual three.)"

Binyamina "Bin" Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Winemaker's Notes
"Binyamina Bin Cabernet Sauvignon has great clarity and a lustrous ruby red hue, a huge nose of red fruit with a hint of herbs and loads of get-up-and-go. The palate reveals a pleasant, medium body and light complexity that is best enjoyed as a young wine. A clean and refreshing finish rounds off this wine. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes, such as appetizers like olive oil-based meze, grilled meats, pasta with pepper sauce or smoked duck breast."
