What's different about Vin Chicago? First of all, we're not about safe choices. We don’t care about hot sellers. We look for the special wines, the ones scoring highest in the wine press and the ones we discover on our own, that we can get for a great price. We taste—and rate for ourselves— virtually everything we put on our shelves. Why? Because we want you to love the wine you buy from us. And come back for more.

Moet & Chandon "Grand Vintage" Rose Champagne 2009

94 Wine Spectator
(6/30/2018) "A firm, tightly meshed rose Champagne, with a powerful frame of smoky mineral and acidity swathed in a fine range of wild strawberry, whole-grain toast, kumquat and exotic spice notes that linger on the racy finish. Disgorged February 2017. Drink now through 2030."

Kosta Browne "One Sixteen" Russian River Chardonnay 2016

93 Jeb Dunnuck
(6/5/2018) "Bottled in December and sourced from sites mostly in the Russian River (there's a small amount of Sonoma Coast in here), the 2016 Chardonnay One Sixteen is the larger production cuvee of the estate and could be thought of as the flagship Chardonnay. It reveals the fresher, crisper style of all the wines from Kosta Browne today and has lively notes of green citrus, stone fruits, toasted almonds, and white flowers. Steely and vibrant today, with beautiful purity, it's going to flesh out nicely with a year in bottle and keep for 6-7 years."

93 Wine & Spirits
93 Wine Spectator
(5/31/2018) "Earthy, feral aromas give way to ripe dark berry elements, with flavors of black cherry, black currant and violet. Supple and harmonious, this remains fresh and long on the detailed aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2035. 224 cases imported."

Silver Oak Cellars Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Winemaker's Notes
"Our 2014 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a garnet color with a ruby red rim and bluish tint. It has an alluring nose of chocolate-covered strawberries, vanilla, nutmeg, truffle and sage. On the palate, it has a broad yet delicate entry and offers cranberry flavors. These flavors are complimented by raspberry and pluot flavors and savory black olive characters on the mid-palate. The wine finishes with silky tannins, cedar and bramble flavors with excellent length and return. Given proper cellaring conditions, this wine will be deliciously drinkable through 2038."

Sea Smoke "Southing" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2016

Winemaker's Notes
"Each year, our goal for Southing is to create the ideal marriage of complexity and elegance. The ever-changing nose of the 2016 Southing exhibits boysenberry, dried cherry, savory spices and fresh plum. The fine tannins and minerality are enhanced by our estate vineyard's characteristic cool climate acidity."

Dominus "Napanook" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

96 James Suckling
93+ Wine Advocate
(10/31/2017) "Bottled in July 2017, Dominus' more approachable, less tannic sister wine, Napanook, is a blend this year of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Napanook Proprietary Red Wine is redolent of creme de cassis, potpourri, plum preserves and violets with hints of dark chocolate, menthol, licorice and charcoal. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is densely packed with black fruit preserves and earthy layers, supported by firm, ripe, fine-grained tannins and finishing with great length. Drink Date: 2017 - 2030."

Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault 2015

Always one of the last Meursault to come to market due to extensive cellaring (20 - 23 months in barrel), the anticipation for this is has us bubbling like an active fermentation! While wines like Domaine Roulot's have become impossibly expensive and scarcely available - Antonie's star is rising as he leads this family estate that has been imported by Kermit Lynch since the 1970's. A warm vintage should allow an extra-level of opulence that Meursault fans. Drink or hold, but buy today before this too reaches a level of unobtainability.

Domaine Auguste Clape "Renaissance" Cornas 2014

92-94 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(12/2015) "Saturated ruby. Potent black and blue fruit, cola, olive and smoky Indian spice aromas are lifted by a suggestion of cracked pepper. Sappy, pliant and appealingly sweet, offering ripe blueberry and cherry compote flavors that tighten up steadily with air. Rich yet energetic, showing strong closing punch and velvety tannins that fold smoothly into sappy dark fruit on the impressively long finish."
