What's different about Vin Chicago? First of all, we're not about safe choices. We don’t care about hot sellers. We look for the special wines, the ones scoring highest in the wine press and the ones we discover on our own, that we can get for a great price. We taste—and rate for ourselves— virtually everything we put on our shelves. Why? Because we want you to love the wine you buy from us. And come back for more.

Poderi Colla "Dardi Le Rose" Bussia Barolo 2013

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(10/2017) "Colla's 2013 Barolo Bussia Dardi Le Rose is a knock-out. Intensely sweet and perfumed, the 2013 reminds me of some of the most profound Barolos and Barbarescos I have tasted. Ripe red cherry, pipe tobacco, mint, dried rose petal, orange peel and anise are some of the endless nuances that seem to develop in the glass. The 2013 is a wine of depth, pedigree and class. It should provide thrilling drinking for a number of years. This is a regal wine in every way. Don't miss it."

Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron Pauillac 2015

97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
97 Wine Advocate
98 Jeb Dunnuck
(11/30/2017) "Reminding me of the 1990, the 2015 Château Pichon Baron is a sensational bottle of wine made from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot that spent 18 months in 80% new French oak. Boasting a deep purple color as well as awesome notes of black raspberries, toasted spices, cassis, lead pencil shavings, tobacco leaf and building minerality, this full-bodied, concentrated 2015 has sweet tannin, a great texture, and a big, big finish. Pauillac all the way, with both opulence and finesse, forget bottles of 4-5 years and enjoy anytime over the following two to three decades. This is a match for the 2009, 2000, and 1990. Maturity: 2022 - 2052."

Eisele "Altagracia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

95 James Suckling
94 Wine Advocate
(10/31/2017) "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia has slightly muted black cherries, crushed black plums and cassis with hints of licorice, black soil and cracked pepper plus a waft of tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, rich and expressive in the mouth, it delivers a lot of layers and wonderfully fine tannins, finishing long and earthy. Drink 2017-2028."

Domaine Poulleau Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2015

95 Our Score
Poulleau's Corton Charlemagne come from a single half-hectare parcel featuring full Southern exposure. This wine saw 100% new oak before bottling. Incredibly rich and decadent, the plush, hefty mouth presence is beautifully balanced with strong acidity and a fine mineral spine. Indulgent Chardonnay that's fully worth it. Actually, compared to most Corton Charlie prices, this is a total steal!

Chateau Clinet Pomerol 2015

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
97 Wine Advocate
99 James Suckling
(2/2/2018) "An immaculate wine with pristine blackberries and dark plums as well as fresh, earthy nuances and dark crushed violets. An upright palate with lightly peppery dark berries and plums. The inflection of cabernet here makes for an impressively powerful wine that still exudes Pomerol's suave, seductive charm. Chalky, seamless tannins. Super fresh. Try from 2022."

Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016

96 James Suckling
93 Wine Spectator
95+ Jeb Dunnuck
(6/5/2018) "The 2016 Pinot Noir Gaps Crown comes from a great, great site on the Sonoma Coast and saw 15% whole clusters and 40% new wood. It's a deep, rich, blacker fruit-driven effort that shows more and more savory, iron, and earthy notes with time in the glass. It's ripe and opulent on the palate, with building tannin, yet packs a wealth of fruit and texture, while still showing the more elegant, balanced style of the vintage."

Chateau Saint Cosme "Hominis Fides" Gigondas 2016

98-100 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/19/2017) "Leading off the special cuvees and from the sandiest parcel of the estate, the 2016 Gigondas Hominis Fides (100% Grenache) has perfection written all over it! Just as fine, elegant and seamless as it gets, yet also with blockbuster depth and richness, it boasts incredible notes of black raspberries, loamy/sandy soils nuances, game, and camphor. Don't miss it!"

Chateau Saint Cosme "Le Claux" Gigondas 2016

99-100 Jeb Dunnuck
(10/19/2017) "The 2016 Gigondas Le Claux has slightly more mid-palate depth compared to the Hominis Fides, yet is also more tannic and structure. Damp clay, forest floor, currants spice and huge minerality all soar from the glass and this full-bodied beauty has an unctuous texture that's currently hiding serious amounts of tannin. Forget bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 15+."
