95-Point Sparkling Nebbiolo with "Finesse, Fragrance, and Energy!"
We are tickled pink today to bring you the latest release of Ettore Germano's beloved Extra Brut Rosé! Known as “Rosanna” it is lovingly named after Sergio Germano’s mother, with a nod towards its pale pink rosé color. Produced entirely from Nebbiolo, it is sourced mainly from the Germano's vineyards in the Barolo commune of Serralunga d’Alba.

Sergio produced his first bottling of “Rosanna” in 2009. While labeled as non-vintage, it is always from a single harvest, 2023 in the case of today’s wine.
Utilizing the Champagne method, with secondary fermentation taking place in the bottle, he spares no expense with this wine. (It's named after his mom, after all!) It is aged on the lees for 24 months prior to disgorgement, allowing additional depth of flavor and complexity to evolve. Pouring a pale pink color with delicate, persistent bubbles, this bright, lively, bone dry, mineral-driven sparkler offers up very pretty notes of strawberry, cherry and citrus along with subtle floral notes, hints of fresh herbs, and enticing flavors of fresh baked bread.
We’ve championed many bottlings of Rosanna over the years, and this latest takes things to a whole new level. And we are not the only ones to take notice! In her recently published article “11 Sparkling Rosatos to Fall in Love With,” wine writer Kerin O’Keefe scored it an emphatic 95 Points!

Made entirely with Nebbiolo, the nose offers lovely aromas of Spanish broom, mountain herb, citrus and small red berry. Sleek and savory, the dry, vibrant palate delivers succulent strawberry, pomegranate, orange zest and brioche before closing on white pepper and a saline note. Bright acidity keeps it balanced while a silky perlage lends an irresistibly smooth texture. This is consistently one of my go-to sparklers. Drink through 2032.”
