97-Point Pinot Noir Flagship from Domaine Drouhin Oregon!

97-Point Pinot Noir Flagship from Domaine Drouhin Oregon!

When it comes to classic red wine matches for the Thanksgiving table, Pinot Noir is the king. Today, just in time for your big dinner, we bring you the newly released 2023 vintage of "Laurène" from Domaine Drouhin Oregon.

“Complex and delicious, this has some seriously good aging potential.”
- Owen Bargreen, September 2025

Made at the Drouhin family's Dundee Hills estate, this flagship Pinot Noir offers a magical combination of forward fruit to light up your table now and underlying structure to age effortlessly for decades. It's the kind of wine that exemplifies just how much brilliance and foresight Veronique Drouhin and her father had when they purchased this land nearly 40 years ago.

And, before we get to the full-throated 97-, 95- and 96-Point reviews, we have one more Drouhin treat for you. Made at Veronique's Roserock property in the Eola-Amity Hills, the 2023 Cloudline Pinot Noir is crafted from a combination of estate and purchased fruit. Impressively rich, totally authentic, and selling for a very un-Oregon-like price of $16.99, it is the perfect choice for those having big crowds over for the holiday.

We love the fact that a single winery - especially one with roots in Burgundy - can do such an amazing job of covering both ends of the spectrum. Read on for the details, then click the Big Yellow Button to get your order in!

2023 Domaine Drouhin Oregon "Laurène" Pinot Noir
Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~
Véronique Drouhin crafts this tremendous Pinot Noir from vines growing in the volcanic soils of her Dundee Hills estate. Fermented with wild yeasts and raised in French oak, it is a selection of the best barrels of the vintage.
“A world-class bottling.”
- Owen Bargreen, September 2025
What makes this wine so perfect for today's offering is that it is a rare top-tier Pinot Noir - whether from Oregon, Burgundy or anywhere else - that is gorgeous to drink upon release, with the structure to age. These reviews from the media do a great job of capturing the beauty, and our beats-every-listing price makes it just about impossible to resist.
“Rich, powerful and gorgeous, drenched in fruity, savory, mushroomy flavors on a full body and super-smooth tannins. It is deep in black cherry, blackcurrant, cedar and pine character that expands on the palate and lingers in the finish. Drink or hold.”
          - 97 Points, James Suckling (3/15/2025)
“A touch more saturated red in color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Laurène is deeper and more layered in the glass, with notes of pine, sage, ripe cherries, fresh leather, and pressed floral perfume. It has a refined and plush texture, with ripe tannins and elegant notes of dark earth. Drink 2025-2040.”
          - 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (8/26/2025)
“A world-class bottling, the 2023 Domaine Drouhin ‘Laurene’ Pinot Noir is a block selection wine that was stored in mainly neutral oak before bottling. This wine was first crafted back in 1992. This is very seamless throughout the drinking experience. Blood orange zest combines with Bing cherry, black raspberry and stony essence. Complex and delicious, this has some seriously good aging potential. Drink: 2025-2043.”
          - 96 Points, Owen Bargreen (9/10/2025)
2023 Cloudline Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~
Using fruit from her Roserock estate as the base, Veronique really nails it with the 2023 Cloudline. Pouring a medium ruby color, this authentic wine offers juicy aromas of black cherry, raspberry and red flowers with a weighty and dense richness that totally belies the price.

With more mouth plumpness than we’ve seen from any Oregon bottling at this price, the fruit flavors expand with air, showing wild red berries, black cherry compote, baking spice and red rock earth. All this, plus a lingering Burgundy-style lift. Finishing long with grit and soul, this is the best Cloudline we’ve yet had, and it drinks more impressively than when we first tasted it six months ago.

If tasted blind, we’d guess way higher on the price. We are confident calling it the best Burgundy-style Pinot Noir value in America right now. Quite frankly, it beats anything coming out of Burgundy for the price.

A solid 90+ points on our scale, this is a steal at its typical $20 price. If you love drinking Oregon Pinot on a random Tuesday night or want something tasty to serve to your guests at holiday gatherings, it is one to grab by the case.
