Anthony’s acquisition of La Clef du Recit fourteen years ago was unexpected and humbling. From a lineage of fifteen generations of winegrowers in the Loire Valley, he made the surprising choice to leave the family and carve his own path. The retiring owner of a small winery in Recy was so struck by Anthony’s passion and talent that he turned his estate over to young Anthony, literally providing a gigantic key to mark the occasion.
This the estate was reborn and named, and Anthony's mission in life became clear. La Clef du Récit.
Working his 40+ year old vines organically, Anthony is one of the most inviting, fun-loving, hard-playing vignerons we’ve had the pleasure of visiting. And his vision and commitment is unwavering. His passion makes it so you can’t leave his side!
The real magic, however, is in the bottle. This vital, vivacious wine spins layers of flavors off a bristling, beautiful core of salty minerals. Tantalizing notes of nectarine, tangerine, lemon leaf, red bell pepper, chalk, tarragon and green apple are expressive and beautifully integrated. The purity and delineation is awesome. This is the kind of Sauvignon Blanc that lets you lean, and we love it!
We hopped on this vintage early. And, as we have always done, purchased it in large volume to get the right price. Looking online we find eight listings for this new release with a median of $33. Our price beats them all!

Small Batch Rosé of Pinot Noir from Sancerre!

YUM! Lipsmacking and vibrant, Anthony also makes this gorgeous dry Rosé! From a single hectare of predominantly flint soils, he tends to 40-year-old Pinot Noir vines. And, wow, the resulting wine is as vital, vivid and crisp as it gets.
Driven by the classic mineral core of Sancerre, its underpinning of refreshing chalkiness is ensconced with fresh white cherries, white flowers, red apple peel, lemon thyme and salted watermelon. It’s a classy, high-level expression of pink wine with a sense of place. A very welcome counterpoint to Provençal Rosé in this price range, it offers greater intensity than most while never losing its absolutely epic drinkability.
It is equally adept at being a charming patio pounder as it is pairing with summer night al fresco dining. Grilled white meats, tomatoes and olive oil please!
