2018 Rocca di Montegrossi "Geremia" Rosso
Tuscany, Italy
~~~~~~~~~~~
Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, Rocca di Montegrossi is owned by Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi, a descendant of the region’s legendary Bettino Ricasoli. The wines produced at the estate are seriously stunning. Today we offer one of our favorites for 47% less than its quoted release price!
Named after the ancient founder of the Ricasoli family, the 2018 Geremia is a classic jaw-dropper of a Super Tuscan crafted from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that is now entering its prime drinking window. Aged for a judicious 26 months in Allier oak barrique (60%) and large tonneaux barrels (40%) - only a tiny portion of which were new - it was then allowed 24 additional months in bottle prior to release.
With its rich concentration, velvety texture, and soft integrated tannins, it is set to impress lovers of Super Tuscans, great Bordeaux, and cult Napa Valley reds alike...
“The 2018 Geremia is stellar. A wine of energy and delineation, Geremia is all about persistence more than volume in 2018. Blueberry, blackberry, lavender, licorice and scorched earth abound. In 2018, Geremia is a wine of tension and reserve. It's best days are far off in the future. I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. Drinking Window: 2026 - 2038.
           - 96 Points, Vinous - Antonio Galloni (6/2022)
“Composed of 82% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Geremia is deep ruby, with a sweet perfume of graphite, fresh violets, and kirsch. It is full bodied but weightless, with refined tannins, and is refreshing on the finish. Mouthwatering with salinity and full, with notes of licorice, black cherry, and black raspberry, this is a stunner of a wine. Drink 2025-2045.
           - 95 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (1/26/2023)
"Marco Ricasoli farms his vines using organic methods, a challenge in rainy growing seasons like 2018, but the well-ventilated position of his Gaiole vineyards, along with intense vineyard work by his team, kept the vines healthy. Geremia, a blend of merlot with about 20 percent of cabernet sauvignon, shows a beautiful freshness in this vintage, its red plum and raspberry flavors seamlessly woven with lively acidity. Warm spice notes deepen the flavors even as hints of wild herbs bring a Tuscan accent to the wine."
This “stunner of a wine” is available today at a stunner of a price. Vinous quotes $85. At 48% less, our blowout price leaves every listing in the dust!
2018 San Filippo "Le Lucére" Brunello di Montalcino
Tuscany, Italy
~~~~~~~~~~~
A single-site, small-batch Brunello di Montalcino of this caliber is always a treat to drink. To find one with nearly eight years of maturity at a blowout price is like tracking down a needle in a haystack!

“Planted in 1997, La Lucère is encircled by forest on three sides. The breezy, east-facing site is relatively cool and always the estate’s last to be harvested. Aged in lightly toasted barriques and tonneaux, 20% new, the 2018 is the most elegantly sculpted and effortlessly balanced wine I have tasted from the estate. It opens with attractive scents of cinnamon, violet and rosemary, and boasts impressive concentration of woodland berry flavours but isn’t heavy. Integrated acidity provides proper support, and the tannins are long and fine, giving texture and shape. The best is still yet to come. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2037.
          - 96 Points, Decanter (11/9/2022)

"A supple, delicate version, this red evokes cherry, licorice, white pepper, earth and rose hip flavors. Intense and balanced, with a gossamer texture, building to a chalky sensation on the finish. Best from 2024 through 2040. 1,250 cases made, 500 cases imported."
          - 94 Points, Wine Spectator (6/30/2023)

“Complex and open already, with aromas of slate, dried rosemary, grilled sage, lemon peel, sour cherries and cardamom. Supple and full-bodied with sleek and fine tannins. I like the olive-stone and herbal undertones. Firmer, mineral finish. Try after 2025.
          - 95 Points, James Suckling (6/15/2022)

2022 Donne Fittipaldi Bolgheri Rosso
Tuscany, Italy

A $24 Bordeaux-style blend from the same region that gives us luxurious wines like Ornellaia and Sassicaia? Sign us up!

This Bolgheri beauty showcases classic Bordeaux meets Napa flavors and characteristics, along with a whole lot of Tuscan charm. The best part? It flies today for 47% less than its quoted $45 release price.

Mirroring a classic left bank Bordeaux, this blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot is rich and robust with just the right amount of tannic grip.

Offering complex flavors of blackberry, black cherry and dried herbs with underlying earthy tones of rocky minerals and freshly turned earth, this sophisticated and elegant red earns 91 points from our team. Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling do a great job capturing its essence...

“Pouring a rich magenta, the 2022 Bolgheri Rosso is attractive and floral with notes of raspberry liqueur, candied flowers, fresh sage, and leather. Medium to full-bodied, it’s mouthwatering from the start, with well-integrated ripe tannins and a saline flourish. This is a versatile Rosso to enjoy over the next 5-6 years. Maturity 2024 - 2030."
          - 90 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (1/16/2024)

“A round and crunchy red with black-cherry, dark-chocolate and currant character. Medium body, firm tannins and a savory finish. Hints of cedar and stone here. Drink or hold.
          - 93 Points, James Suckling (7/24/2024)

Pair with anything from grilled double cut pork chop or filet mignon with wild mushroom to a simple mushroom and sausage pizza, gourmet burgers or baked ziti in red sauce. Jeb quotes $45. Online listings for vintages younger and older reveal a median of $42. Our blowout price is sizzling!
