2020 Leflaive "Esprit Leflaive" Pouilly-Fuissé

This gorgeous Pouilly-Fuissé comes from two certified organic vineyard plots that total 0.98 hectares and were first planted in 1951. Driven by minerality, and bringing an abundant mouthfeel and complex flavor concentration, it is certainly the most exciting Pouilly-Fuissé we have ever featured.
Started in 2018 by Domaine Leflaive as a venture beyond the Côte de Beaune and the Mâconnais, to Chablis and the Côte de Nuits, to explore the wider Burgundy, including small selections of Pinot Noir in addition to Chardonnay. Esprit Leflaive grapes come from partnerships with select winegrowers who often work very old vines, are harvested by the Domaine's team, and vinified in the Domaine's cellar in Puligny Montrachet.
Decadently creamy in texture with seductive flavors of vanilla, white flowers and orchard fruits culminating in a long, complex and quite seductive finish, this presents like a very good 1er Cru Puligny-Montrachet.
Earning a very strong 94+ Point score from our team, it is drinking beautifully right now and will keep improving over the next 5 to 10 years. We were smitten from the first taste, and our sample bottle just kept getting better as we revisited it over the course of several days!
