Delicious $12.99 Red from 100-Point Winemaker!

Do you remember a few months ago when we brought you a 100-Point Châteauneuf-du-Pape from vigneron Caroline Charrier? Well, today we have another wine from Caroline's estate, and this one is only thirteen bucks!

If you look closely at the picture we used when featuring her CdP, you'll notice a bottle sitting directly in front of Caroline. That's the wine we have for you today, and it sells for a song.

The 2022 Domaine Font de Courtedune Vaucluse Rouge (90 Points, $12.99) is the kind of every day red that we as wine lovers are always looking for, yet struggle to consistently find. Offering authentic Southern Rhône flavors and a pleasing "just right" balance, it is the perfect red for Saturday night parties, Tuesday night leftovers, Sunday afternoon grilling with lamb and pork sausages, and just about anything else.

Labeled under the regional “Vaucluse” designation, this playful everyday red colors outside of the Côtes du Rhône lines by blending equal parts Syrah and Merlot, and we absolutely love it!

Fermented using whole clusters and raised in large concrete vessels, with no oak, this juicy red is pure, lifted and perfect to drink while you’re working the grill.

On the nose and in the mouth, Caroline's 2022 Vaucluse gives gobs of lively flavors including strawberry, raspberry, watermelon, cracked pepper, sage, lemon verbena and crumbled red earth. With such freshness and lift, this will be delightful on the back patio on a cool early summer night, and will be perfect to enjoy chilled down a few degrees on a hot summer afternoon.

We love the fact that Caroline has been getting such attention for her wines lately, and we hope that we'll still continue to be able to get such good access to them in the future. (We have a visit with her planned for later this month, so keep your fingers crossed.) At thirteen bucks, this lovely, artisan red is the kind of wine that we love selling at Vin Chicago. Pus a Silky Northern Rhône White from a New Estate!

While Romain Roudier and his family have farmed trees in the Northern Rhône Valley for generations, it was only back in 2010 when he first planted grape vines, and in 2020 when Romain released his first Domaine Vendome bottling. Without a doubt, he and his wife Céline are quick studies!

Raised primarily in stainless steel, with just 10% in new oak, their 2022 Domaine Vendome "Les Brucias" Crozes-Hermitage Blanc combines Marsanne (70%) and Roussanne (30%) into a velvety, spicy, fruit-laden white that is sizzling with brisk minerality and freshness.

Boasting a traditional Northern Rhône weightiness, this fleshy, rich and opulent wine comes alive with a few minutes of swirling to reveal layered flavors of yellow plum, apricots, orange oil, licorice and spring blossoms. We are a solid 92+ Points on this dry, peppery-finished white, and encourage lovers of White Burgundy, Albariño, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc to give it a try.

This extremely small production wine was imported directly to Chicago for us, and we think you're really going to dig it. Drink now and over the coming 5 to 10 years. Wine like this are so much fun in their youth, and become fascinating with age!
