Over the years we’ve brought you many old-school Burgundies from Domaine Lejeune, a storied property in Pommard that featured the incredible winemaking talents of Aubert Lefas. Due to reasons that are still a bit unclear to us, we were bummed to recently learn that Aubert will no longer be making these fabulous wines, and the new releases are likely to not be imported to the US.
After learning this news, we thought these wines were long gone until our importer contacted us a few weeks ago about a few dozen forgotten cases of the 2022 Domaine Lejeune Bourgogne Côte-d’Or that were found slumbering in a California warehouse. Just over 100 cases were imported of this lovely Pinot Noir, and considering this is legit estate bottled red Burgundy, it carries an unusually low price tag of only $25.99. It is with bittersweet excitement that we are able to offer one final crack at these last-of-the-last bottles made by the hands of Aubert Lefas.

From the great 2022 vintage, this wine is sure to quickly put a smile on your face. Pouring a pale ruby red, this authentic Pinot Noir offers aromas and flavors of cherry, black tea, red flowers and clay-limestone earth flavors, all atop a soft and elegant mouthfeel. It’s drinking perfectly right now and, on our scale, we are a solid 90+ Points. Enjoy the elegance of this wine with classic French bistro dishes like roasted duck, beef Bourguignon, and country pâté, but feel no guilt to pour it alongside a juicy burger or a simply prepared baked salmon.

Consistently turning out high quality reds from his estate vineyards in Marsannay, just north of Gevrey-Chambertin, vigneron Cyril Audoin is a shining star.
Lovely, expressive and packed with delicious fruit, this elegant and complex 2022 bottling from Les Longeroies vineyard showcases an exciting limestone mineral tension complemented by a collection of pure cherry, cassis and wild forest berries.
Savory and earthy with hints of red flowers, it is a “wow” wine that earns a seriously delicious 94 Points from the Vin Chicago team. Awarding 96 points, James Suckling scores it even higher!

Generous and drinkable, with all the markings we look for in an age worthy Burgundy, this is really great stuff. Looking online, we found ten listings with a median of $89. Our price is twenty bucks less. Burgundy lovers, do not miss this!
