What we have here is one seriously crazy Napa Valley opportunity. Crafted by winemaker Kevin Morrissey, formerly of Ehlers Estate, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon includes fruit grown in Coombsville, Oakville, and Rutherford, with sourcing primarily from Miller Ranch in Yountville.

Morrisey built this one-off bottling from three harvests: 2019, 2021 and 2022. Deep in color and packed with delicious dark tones of black raspberry and blue plum, the Boomslang develops nicely with air, softening and expanding to include flavors of black pepper, tobacco, vanilla and fresh turned soil.
Silky and full in the mouth, it’s a solid 93 points on our scale. Awarding 94 points, Decanter Magazine goes even higher, writing this spot-on review...
“Boomslang is a multi-vintage blend of 2019, 2021, and 2022 fruit, crafted by Kevin Morrisey (formerly of Ehlers Estate). It's an incredibly easy-drinking, smooth Cabernet with just enough fine-grained tannins to layer in a bit of grippy texture. Still, for the most part, it's a pretty, red-fruited, elegant Cabernet with good tension and energy. This makes me wish California wineries would do more non-vintage blends. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2034.”

The winery price is $85. Tasting blind, we'd guess $50 to $60. A huge national liquor store chain that also grabbed a big pile on closeout has it featured for $30. It is a seriously hot deal at that price. Our price is 27% less!
