2023 Cloudline Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using fruit from her Roserock estate as the base, Veronique Drouhin really nailed it with the 2023 Cloudline. Pouring a profound ruby color with deep, juicy aromas of black cherry, black raspberry and florals, there's an impressive weighty and dense richness here that totally belies the price.
With more mouth plumpness than we’ve seen from any Oregon bottling at this price, it presents tones of wild red berries, black cherry compote, and baking spice along with a classic Burgundian minerality. Finishing long with grit and soul, this is the best Cloudline we’ve yet had!
Packed with flavor, there is no way you'd guess the price of this legit Willamette Valley. We’ll go even further, calling it the best Burgundy-style Pinot Noir value made in America right now. With a solid 90+ Points on our scale, this delicious wine will only get better in the coming months and years.
Typical retail is around $20, and it is a steal at that price. Our price moves the deal into the category of ridiculousness. If you love drinking Oregon Pinot on a random Tuesday night, meet your new best friend!
2022 Roserock "Zéphirine" Pinot Noir
Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The limited-production 2022 Zéphirine bottling is Roserock’s top wine, and it's really something special. Produced entirely from their estate in the Eola-Amity Hills district, this knockout Pinot has earned massive respect and huge scores from both Jeb Dunnuck and Decanter Magazine...
“A richer red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Zepherine Roserock is also more floral and has some savory elements, but it also has a more pronounced dark stone mineral tone, with violets, black raspberries, tea leaf, and toasted spices. Medium-bodied, it’s ripe but has fantastic linear drive through its floral-noted finish, and the lift almost suggests whole cluster, yet it’s entirely destemmed. Drink it over the next 15 or more years. Maturity: 2024 - 2039.”
- 97 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (8/6/2024)
"A gorgeously floral nose from the Zéphirine, a barrel selection cuvée from the Roserock estate in the Eola-Amity Hills at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills. The fragrant complexity veers from smoky violet notes to dusty Oregon marionberry and a sweet blueberry compote. The palate shows a textured array of blue mountain berries, sweet blackberries, smoky clove and black tea. Structure and finesse come together wonderfully in the Zéphirine. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2037.”
- 96 Points, Decanter (7/16/2024)
Jeb Dunnuck quotes $90. The winery price is $75. Grab a bottle or three to enjoy now and over the coming 10 to 15 years. Supply is very limited.
