The $16.99 Cru Beaujolais that Should Sell for 65% More!

The $16.99 Cru Beaujolais that Should Sell for 65% More!

Anaïs Pertuizet was in her early 20s when she founded her domaine in Beaujolais four years ago. Doing everything by hand, it is a true one woman operation.

Working with her horse, Irokoi, she crafts two dynamic reds. A few months ago, we brought you the less expensive of those wines, her Beaujolais-Lantignié, for the price of $21.99.

Today, thanks to a twist of fate, we are able to bring you her premium bottling, from a tiny parcel in Régnié, for a price that is even lower!

This structured and extremely deep red colored wine ought to sell for around $28. When a shipping delay in another state resulted in a cancelled order, however, 56 cases were left without a home.

Knowing how smitten we are with Anaïs and her wines, the importer contacted us and offered this tiny-production wine at a very attractive price. We bought it all and are passing the savings on to you.

At $16.99, the 2022 Domaine Pertuizet Régnié is a total knockout. Scroll down for our tasting notes, and for a crisp, dry, and crunchy Loire Valley white from the Charpentier brothers, then hit down fast on that Big Green Button to get your order in!

2022 Domaine Pertuizet Régnié
Beaujolais, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
Embracing natural vineyard practices and hands off winemaking, Anaïs Pertuizet's wines are pure artisan gold.
Her top wine, which we bring you here, comes from the cru of Régnié, specifically from her organically farmed, 0.51 hectare site featuring 60 year old vines growing in the granite soils for which Beaujolais is famous.
Looking just like one would expect from a classic Beaujolais, this bright purple, opaque-ish juice is quite attractive to the eye. With a few quick swirls, inviting fruit aromas and pleasing floral and mineral notes waft from the glass.
Take a sip and you'll find a concentrated and dense wine with layers of black cherry and black rock earth that expand over time while a soft, sophisticated texture coats your palate.
As is Anaïs's tradition, this impressive Beaujolais was raised in concrete without fining and was bottled with just the barest amount of sulfur. Already drinking great, we are big fans - awarding a strong 92 points on the Vin Chicago scale.
There is a lot of material here, and today's price is nuts. If we had ordered this after we originally tasted it in France, our price would have been $28. Thanks to the back door way we acquired this wine, we're able to bring it to you today for a full eleven bucks less. The deal here is totally ridiculous!
2022 Domaine Charpentier "Saint Vincent" Blanc
Reuilly, Loire Valley, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
Brothers Jean-Baptiste, Geraud, and Etienne Charpentier organically farm Sauvignon Blanc in their home village of Reuilly, just west of Sancerre. Their operation is impressive and, with 25 hectares under vine, the brothers have their hands full.

They craft several Sauvignon Blancs from their land, with the most reasonably priced being their “Saint Vincent.”

This dry, crisp, crunchy white gives classic Loire flavors of green herbs, smoky citrus, white peach, and chalky-clay minerals along with a peppery zip. Cool and fresh, it is perfect for parties, for partnering with spicy Asian dishes, and for enjoyment any night of the week by those who love the unique character of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

As with the Beaujolais, we were able to pick up this tasty artisan white at a substantial discount. Had we bought it when we visited this family estate last year, our price would have been around $20. At today's 30%-less price, it is a bargain to drink now and all summer long!
