The $17.99 White Burgundy That Defies Logic!
Today's White Burgundy offer just doesn’t make any sense. Handcrafted by fifth generation vigneron Yannick Paquet, this delicious 2024 Mâcon-Villages offers classic Burgundy flavors and texture, yet sells for just $17.99.
What makes the price on this classic French white even more logic-defying is that it is one of the first wines we've brought in that got hit by the new tariffs. In today’s unpredictable wine world, however, we’ve learned to not ask too many questions!
We just adore this wine, and are thrilled to bring it to you at a price that harkens back to Mâcon bottlings from years gone by. Scroll down to check out our notes, and for details on a single-vineyard Meursault from grower Domaine Xavier Monnot, then hit the Big Green Button to grab a few bottles.

2024 Domaine des Granges Mâcon-Villages
Burgundy, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
When it comes to bottling authentic white Burgundy at category-defying prices, we’ve not found anyone who does it better than Yannick Paquet. Made from declassified Macon-Chaintré fruit growing just outside the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, his 2024 Domaine des Granges Mâcon-Villages is perfectly delicious.
Aromas and flavors of red and yellow apples with lemon-scented crème are present from the first sip. Give a few swirls and you'll release notes of honeysuckle, white pepper, white peach, pear and river rocks, all atop a soft palate that finishes long with medium body and racy energy.
It’s a classic Mâcon white and we’re surprised and grateful that we can offer it for this price. We wish we could find smartly priced Burgundy of this caliber on a regular basis, but those days are long gone. This wine, especially in today’s wacky world, is truly an anomaly.
Single-Vineyard Meursault from Domaine Xavier Monnot!
2022 Domaine Xavier Monnot "Les Chevalières"
Meursault, Burgundy, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
With a Burgundian family tree dating back to 1723, Xavier Monnot is known for his staunch Meursault traditionalism. In recent years, his wines have - quite deservedly - been getting more and more attention.
“This has been a rather over-looked Meursault producer, but readers should look out for their 2022s because there’s undoubtedly an uptick in quality.”
- Vinous, October 2023
From the 2022 vintage, today's wine comes from Les Chevalières, a calcaire laden lieu-dit in a valley above the village of Meursault. With a serious mineral core and a long, exciting, compact structure, this luscious wine earns a 94-point score on our scale, and we bring it to you for a price that is quite a bit below the market.
“Aromas and flavors of white flowers, citronella and hazelnut cream abound, backed by lively acidity. Lip-smacking and fresh, this white persists on the toasty, smoky finish. Drink now through 2028.”
- 93 Points, Wine Spectator (10/15/2024)
Just 150 cases were imported of this single-vineyard Meursault. Looking online we found a median retail of $130. We bring it to you for 34 bucks less. In a world of insane pricing for premium Burgundy, it's good to know that single vineyard Meursault from a top grower can be found for under 100 bucks!
