==========

2018 Château de Ferrand
Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
"The estate truly hits its stride in 2018, with a wine reflecting ripe plum, blackberry, and black cherry aromas. With the high alcohol of earlier vintages, this wine fully succeeds with balancing freshness and nuance – compared to the similarly solar 2015 vintage, for example. With even less new wood (and less extraction) than in 2017 – only 30% new oak – the freshness and bright fruit balance the vintage opulence (as if it had a dollop of Port) leading to a long finish. Ideal on its own or with a gourmet meal. Bravo!"
          - 94 Points, Decanter (4/3/2024)
"Fresh and direct, with cassis and bitter plum fruit stitched together with chalky minerality while subtle dried lavender, tobacco and alder notes emerge through the finish. There's some depth in reserve here too, so cellar for maximum effect. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2036. 10,000 cases made, 500 cases imported."
          - 94 Points, Wine Spectator (3/31/2021)
"Very beautiful purity of fruit on the nose with currant, cherry, blackberry and dried lavender. Full-bodied, yet balanced and refined with beautiful, fine tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. I am impressed with the intensity and balance to this wine. Best ever? Try after 2026."
          - 95 Points, James Suckling (1/21/2021)
2019 Château Poesia
Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
"The 2019 Poesia is deep garnet-purple in color. Incredibly floral on the nose, with roses and lilacs spilling out of the glass, leading to a core of kirsch, redcurrant jelly, and blackberry preserves with hints of iron ore, cinnamon toast, and dark chocolate plus a waft of aniseed. Medium to full-bodied, it is firm, tightly wound, and super fine-grained, with amazing freshness and tension leading to a long, mineral finish with loads of floral sparks."
          - 96 Points, The Wine Palate (5/2026)

"The 2019 Poesia is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Hélène and Patrice Lévêque. Rich and sumptuous, Poesia marries intensity with vibrancy in grand style. Poesia is a big, explosive Saint-Émilion, but it also possesses tremendous energy. Dark fruit, gravel, incense, spice and saddle leather open with a bit of coaxing. There is an exotic quality to Poesia in 2019 that is especially alluring. Brilliant.
          - 96 Points, Vinous - Antonio Galloni (1/2022)

"Dried flowers, mimosa, blackcurrants, peppercorns and burnt orange on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with firm, tightly wound tannins and crisp acidity. Zesty, mineral character on the tight finish. Lightly smoky at the end. Try in 2026."
          - 95 Points, James Suckling (1/2022)

The price on Hélène's 2019 Poesia is absolute sweet spot. We are thrilled to have been able to secure a supply!

Plus a Classic Bordeaux Blanc!

2022 Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc
Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France
~~~~~~~~~~~
This Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend comes from the historic Martillac property, which dates back to the ancient Romans. Made from a single hectare, it is a rarity in the US, where we found just one other listing. The scores speak for themselves, ranging from 93 to 94+ Points...
"Absolutely classic notes of ripe citrus, pineapple, and minty flowers emerge from the 2022 Château Lespault-Martillac Blanc, a concentrated white that's medium to full-bodied, has a balanced, silky mouthfeel, and a great finish. Based on 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, it’s a quintessential Graves that will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following 15+ years."
          - 94+ Points, Jeb Dunnuck (2/2025)
"Tangerine, white peach and quinine form a lively, fresh-feeling mix. There's a light gilding of honeysuckle draped over the bouncy finish, which shows an echo of wet stone. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2028. 700 cases made."
          - 93 Points, Wine Spectator (5/2025)
"This has phenolic tension that gives energy and focus. Really lively and structured, it’s medium-bodied with density and precision. Pretty texture. Subtle and complex. Drink now."
          - 94 Points, James Suckling (1/2025)
