Wine Spectator's Only 92-Point 2021 Pinot Under $20!

Wine Spectator's Only 92-Point 2021 Pinot Under $20!

Of 1,547 Pinot Noirs reviewed by Wine Spectator from the 2021 vintage, a mere 61 were priced at $20 or less. Of those, only a single one has earned 92 points. Today, we bring that hugely overdelivering wine to you.

Crafted by Brent Maris, son of Marlborough pioneer John Marris, from the Waihopai Valley vineyards he played in as a child, the quality-to-price ratio of this authentic, pure, and quite delicious Pinot Noir is off the chart.

2021 Marisco Vineyards "The Ned" Pinot Noir
Marlborough, New Zealand
~~~~~~~~~~~
Spicy cherry, wild strawberry, smoke, coffee, red flowers and rocky earth aromas are authentic and pure, wafting gently from the glass. Elegant and fresh, classic Pinot notes of deep red fruit and spice are here from the first sip, along with just the right amount of generosity and presence to make this a whole lot of fun to drink.
We’re a solid 90+ points, and are likely being a bit stingy. Awarding 92 points, Wine Spectator writes...
“Generous flavors of raspberry puree, maraschino cherry, pomegranate and matcha are fresh and intense. Red licorice, clove and fresh earth accents, along with a touch of blood orange, leave a long, lasting impression. Drink now. 20,000 cases made, 538 cases imported.”
Classic 92-Point Russian River Chardonnay for $18.99!
2022 DeLoach Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Sonoma County, California
~~~~~~~~~~~
Not only do we have Wine Spectator's hottest Pinot Noir value in the category, we also bring you what may be their smartest Russian River Valley Chardonnay buy!

Outscoring their $58 estate bottling, this core 2022 release from DeLoach is a wonderful bargain from this prestigious region.

Flavors of yellow apple, orange creamsicle and nectarine lead to nuances of wildflower honey and butter cookie. Swirl the glass a few times and you'll likely pick up a hint of vanilla and sweet peach too. We’re 90 points on this lively Chardonnay. Awarding 92 points, Wine Spectator writes...

“Generous and plump, offering candied lemon and orange peel notes, along with pretty citrus blossom accents that are delicate and lively. There's plenty of juiciness to the details of graham cracker, lemon curd and orange sherbet. Shows a touch of lemongrass on the finish. Drink now. 3,000 cases made.”
